Manga Meet-Up 2022

This piece was created for a local event at the Scunthorpe Central Library. I was commissioned by the organiser to create a piece that she could use on the North Lincolshire Council and Scunthorpe Central Library's social media accounts and sites to promote the event. The piece was also used on the site used to book guests in to the event. I made the personal decision to create stickers for the event with the piece on for people to take home for free for attending the event.

I was also invited to attend and run an art/creativity workshop, which was up to my own discretion to plan. I created a comic workshop, starting by creating characters and the basics of how I create characters personally. Once the characters were created, I handed out template comic panel sheets for people to illustrate on, providing an example of how, specifically, manga pages are laid out. I went to the tables where guests were seated and helped guide them with their pieces if they were stuck or struggling, offering ideas and assisting them in illustration. I encouraged the guests to take home any spare templates and create comics at home for fun and to practice their art.
